Leather recliners
Leather Recliners are a mainstay of at home American rest and relaxation. The premium smooth feel of leather, coupled with a reclining, swivel or rocking motion usually make these chairs the most popular in any living room. On great reason for buying leather recliners, as opposed to other type of recliners, is that the leather actually improves with age. Leather recliners become more comfortable each time you use them.

Grades of leather:
- Full Grain: The highest quality, should have imperfections. Very soft, very durable.
- Top Grain: Top grain means that the “grain of the leather” is artificially produced on the leather, with a stamp. This produces a leather with fewer imperfections, yet is still durable.
- Split Grain: This type of leather is usually marketed as “Genuine Leather” It is less durable than Top Grain and Full Grain.
- Bonded Leather: This is the most inexpensive type of leather, sometime used in leather recliners. Don't let the price fool you, bonded means that pieces of leather are fused to each other, the leather doesn’t come from one large piece. A chemical process is sometime used to bond the leather together, this can be seamless, sometimes bonded means that the leather is sewn together like patchwork.
How to take care of a leather recliner
Leather recliners do not do well with heat. Don’t put these too close to the fire, your electric heaters, or anything else that produces heat. Heat will crack and dry out your leather recliner the same way that it will crack and dry out your other leather goods.
Sharp objects should also be avoided, leather scratches quite easily, leather can also absorb pigments from dye and other coloring agents. Keep pens and any sort of ink away from this material.
Never use any sort of soap, detergent, chemical or product on leather upholstered chairs, except where it is specially designed for leather. An example of something you can you can use is a leather conditioner.
If your leather recliner gets any sort of stain or dirt on it, use a dry cloth an blot the excess off. Do not use a damp cloth. If you are going to use a damp cloth, make sure it is only very slightly wet and that you always test a damp cloth on a hidden part of the recliner, such as under the seat or foot rest. Black leather recliners, and darker colored leather recliners show less dirt than white leather.
