Cherry Computer Desk

Traditional Uses of Cherry

It is especially common in the Queen Anne furniture style. This style of furniture frequently uses cherry wood as a design motif. This style is distinctive and can be identified by its signature scalloped brass hardware and cabriole legs.

Popular Cherry Desk Styles

Cherry is a classic design motif for executive office spaces. It adds character and warmth and exudes an aura of authority. But cherry is not limited strictly to the traditional. Another common use for cherry is in Mission or Shaker style furnishings. This style tends to let the natural color of the cherry shine rather than accentuating it with an extra stain. Contemporary desks also use this wood species to stunning effect. Look for natural cherry finishes in modern and sleek designs.

Cherry Desk Configurations

A classic pedestal style desk is probably the most popular cherry finish desk. But there are also many other styles designed to fit different spaces. If you have the room to spread out an L-shaped or U-shaped desk is a great way to stay organized. If you are pressed for space, try a small corner desk or a secretary desk for some old-fashioned charm. If you are adding a desk to a room that does double duty, consider the lighter look of a writing desk.

Features of Cherry Desks

Even a classically designed pedestal desk in solid cherry will be designed to accommodate the demands of the modern work place. Details like CPU shelves, pullout keyboard trays and wire management systems are all common. If you require extra storage space, choose a pedestal style unit with drawers for office supplies and a filing cabinet drawer. For even more added space, a hutch offers display and hidden storage without taking up any extra square footage.
