This bench was exactly like I thought it would be. It fits perfectly under our living room window and we use it to store toys. It was super easy to put together. The directions say you need two people, but I did it myself at 9 months pregnant and with the "help" of my three year old. I am very pleased with the end results!

[...], one of the cuts for the shelf was not completed. If we hadn't had a jigsaw to complete the cut ourselves, we couldn't have assembled it and would have had to send it back. The stain/finish was not completely applied, so we had to use a stain pencil to "color in" two small unfinished streaks on one side. But if it weren't for the problem requiring us to drag out the jigsaw, it would have been easy to assemble. Be aware that the finish is lighter than antique walnut, more like chestnut. All that being said, the bench itself is quite sturdy solid wood, and the baskets are larger than I envisioned and very well made. (The first time it was sat on, it creaked loudly, but it's been silent ever since.) We needed a narrow bench at the bottom of our bed to provide a place to sit and it's perfect for that. Be careful, though, not to put your feet too far back or you'll knock the baskets into the back wall of the chest. We put felt "dots" on the basket bottoms and backs to prevent them from scratching the wood. I made a simple cushion for the top, and it looks great. The shelf and baskets are large enough to hold slippers and some extra warm socks, though I think I might line them with some of the same fabric I used for the cushion and store some of my knitting in one or two of them.

We used this to hold TV components (hard drive, blue ray, receiver, etc.). The TV is mounted over the fireplace and large low windows are on either side. This fits on the side under a window and everything fits. We drilled a hole in back for the wires. The baskets are perfect for the manuals and other odd bits.

I wanted a bench to put at the end of my bed that would also have room for some storage. It gives me a place to put my bedspread when not in use and also a place to sit (other than on the bed) when dressing in the morning. I like that the bench is solid wood. It was very easy to put together. And the 3 baskets that came with it match perfectly and appear to be quite sturdy. Altogether a handsome piece of furniture and yet one that doesn't take up much space.

The only negative was that the back was of thick cardboard and came partially damaged. Rather than send it back, the part damaged was in back anyway, and the baskets covered the damage. Damage was not structural. The bench was just as I expected it would look. Used it in the bedroom underneath a window and since it is outside a master bath, used baskets for additional bath items. Love it.

This piece is well constructed, good value and is actually made of real wood (unlike many comparable units, which use some type of reconstituted wood). It was easy to assemble and looks great in our hallway, where it serves as a place to sit and take off/put on shoes. Good buy!

I put this together myself in less than 30 minutes! Wood quality and attractiveness is EXCELLENT! We keep it by our stairs in the entryway for the kids to put their school items in. The height is perfect, and it's not so deep that you trip into it when you walk by it. The baskets are great quality and sturdy enough for boys to use!
