After much shopping around and review reading, I bought 3 of these stools for my bar-height breakfast bar, and I have no regrets. They assemble in minutes and look great in my contemporary condo. The stools are sturdy and fairly comfortable. Some reviews have commented that the seat drops when you sit on it, but it is negligible and should be expected with a hydraulic lift chair.

We were in the market for chairs for our remodeled kitchen, so budget was a primary concern as well as sturdiness. These chairs fit all of our criteria, they swivel to allow ease of use, but have slightly padded sides so swivelling them into the bar will not cause damage to the chairs or the bar over time. They look good, the material is easy to wipe clean and not prone to staining.

The only con is that when extended to the full height, they can be a bit difficult to get onto for those who are height-challenged. The footrest is not very comfortable to use for those of us with shorter legs.
