These are very solid, well made speaker stands. I'm using them with 14 pound bookshelf speakers, but they can support much more weight. The adjustable height is perfect for side or rear surround speakers. The styling is basic and functional. They come in either black or silver to match your decor.

I bought these speaker stands from Cymax through [@].com and am quite happy with them. The price was fair and the shipping was quick (about a week - FedEx Ground, from one end of the country to the other!).However, I need to correct something. The website says that the pair of speakers weigh 54 lbs. This is incorrect. The pair of speakers weigh 27 lbs. in the packaging, and 24 lbs. outside of the packaging (so 12 lbs. each). They are plenty heavy but as I was following the shipment, it was labeled "speaker stand" (singular) and 24 lbs. so I was afraid I was going to receive only one stand! I did indeed receive 2 stands, and they are the correct model/weight.I've got Bose 301 Series V speakers on them, and they are holding up just fine. I haven't fished the wires through the poles yet but I don't foresee any problems with that.My only minor beef is with the adjustment knob. It's simply a thick screw or pin that holds the inner pole in place by pressure. The knob itself is a bit tiny and tough to grip, but it's not too difficult to get it tight enough to hold. I don't really plan on adjusting the height any further (now that I have the stands at just the right height!), but I think someone had a nice idea of trying to find a replacement knob (with the same threaded and width screw/pin) that is easier to grip - I could see that!All in all, though, I'm happy with these stands and with Cymax (and [@]). Sure, I could have paid 1/3 of the price for cheap stands elsewhere, but from reading many reviews I find that you generally get what you pay for. I found it difficult finding height-adjustable stands that can hold decent-sized (and weight) bookshelf speakers, but these do the trick, and they do it very well!

It's hard to find a speaker stand appropriate for a living room that has enough height for rear surround speakers. Recommended height is 2-3' above ear level. Most of the "decorative" speaker stands aren't close to high emough. This is a good alternative to wall mounting. It'a a basic stand that doesn't have the option of filling it with lead shot or sand, but it's still decently stable, even at full height. The carpet spikes definitely help. It would be nice if it was configured to run the speaker wire directly from underneath the base up through the pole, but with a proper speaker wire choice, you can make it look decent anyway with the little bit of exposed wire. The knob seems to be sufficient for holding the inner pole secure in the outer pole, even though it is only held by friction vs. a pin, which makes for a more attractive pole since it doesn't have a multitude of holes.

Overall, the item works well - especially for the price. A couple things to improve upon: 1) the knobs to adjust the stand height don't allow for the best grip while tightening - if you can find a replacement it might make securing the top post easier, and 2) the rubberized plastic inserts to cover the speaker management holes are a bit weak and can tear easily if you pull to hard when trying to remove them.

Having the speakers above head level makes a huge difference with my surround speakers. No double sided bolts to secure speakers, though ad says adapts to most speakers, no fish tape included to thread audio wire and the extension is held up with nothing but friction of bolt against inside pole. Picky....yes, and easy to remedy. But, I think they should have been handled by the factory, for the price.

Solid product and heavy and adjust to hold my speakers at exact right height next to my 50" Plasma. Can't beat the price for such a solid product.

An assembly manual or drawing is not included. It could have been useful. But I got it assembled in about 30 minutes. It it quite versatile in terms of height and the speakers it can support. Works well and feels solid. I am totally satisfied.
