We are really enjoying this screen. We use gas logs so we have don't have the spark issues but the screen is definitely dense enough to prevent sparks from popping out onto the hearth. The only problem we have is when you open the doors, the screen pulls forward as well. The legs in front prevent the screen from falling over. We love the fact that it takes up less room than the three panel screen we had previously.
