The headboard was quick and easy to assemble- directions were helpful. We love this as our toddlers first bed. We planned to use a general twin bedframe and connect the headboard to that. However, we discovered that it was more difficult than we expected. We have it standing up against the wall now- unconnected. The problem with this is that the boxspring and mattress are too high so the pillow lines up with the midsection shelf area. The bed that goes with the set only uses the mattress. We will likely purchase the bed since it doesn't easily connect with a general bedframe- but still worth it- just be aware!

We purchased this item for our grand daughter's 3rd birthday. She loves it! Makes her feel so grown up! Very cute addition to her room. She can store her books where she can safely reach them without taking up a lot of room in her small room.

My daughter LOVES her headboard, it has plenty storage space for books & lamp it also has a hole for the lamp cord to go through. I would truly recommend......... :-)

This is my three year old son's first "big boy bed". He loves it, but of course he did'nt have to put it togeather. Assembly took some time, but in the end my son was very happy and that makes me happy. It came packed very well and was in perfect condition when I opened it. I also purchased the mates bed to go with the headboard, so it came in two boxes. They were quite heavy. The bed is a compressed wood product that is simple to assemble with some time involved. I don't expect the bed to last forever, seeing that its a fiber type board, but its a good choice for rough playing boys and for a room where you could use extra storage, the drawers on the mates bed are great. con: slight glue oder
