South Shore Furniture
South Shore Furniture is a third-generation, family-owned company. It was established in 1940 when founder Eugene Laflamme bought out a bankrupt toy manufacturing company in Quebec. They eventually expanded into the dining furniture market creating tables and chairs. When chrome furniture took the market by storm in the 50s, South Shore expanded into bedroom sets.
Today, all of South Shore’s furniture is made from recycled fibers. Wood is sourced from EPP and FSC compliant companies. Their furniture is adorned with lead-free hardware and all furniture is nearly 85% biodegradable (by weight). South Shore’s furniture is packaged using cardboard and plastic made from recycled materials. Scrap wood panels that would normally be manufacturing waste, are now used to heat the factories in Quebec and Mexico.
