My son wanted to re-do his room in a comtemporary / modern style. He wanted a simple, black platfrom bed. This fit the bill perfectly. Although it is heavy in the box, no more so than any other furniture. I would not want it to be lighter. My husband & 15 yr old son put it together in less than an hour. No problem moving it around without a mattress. I liked that this had the raised molding edges as it gives the bed a finished look especially when his comforter is on and tucked in. Very sturdy. I know some have complained that they could bump into the corner. I guess you could if your mattress doesn't fit right or isn't big enough, but, we have not had that problem. I do not think that I would recommend this for any child under 10-13 as they probably would run into it frequently or if you do not have a lot of space in the room that you have this in.

Unlike everybody has said, the bed was easy to assemble. One just had to take the time (20 min max) to organize the parts and then put it together.

It's design looks very good in our room. It isn't the greatest quality... But for the price of it it was well worth it.

I put this product in my son's room and it looks very nice for a teenage boy.
It gave his room a sense of maturity. It took about a half hour to assemble the
Product and all parts were marked properly. I'm purchasing more products in a couple weeks

I bought this for my bedroom for my husband and myself. It took him about 45 minutes to put together, without any difficulties. I love the look that it adds to my decorated room. I also love that our animals cannot get under the bed.

I use my platform bed as my primary bed. I love the reasonable price and the timely manner in which it was shipped. However, the bed is very heavy and hard to move around in the room. But, it has the comtemporary look I love.
