Southern Enterprises Coventry Black Wood TV Stand

Finished in antique black, this media center utilizes one large open adjustable shelf in the middle above one large drawer to fit electronics and media equipment. There are window paned cabinet doors on either side housing one adjustable shelf each. The top of this piece measures 51" wide by 16" deep making it capable of holding a wide range of TV's and equipment. With so much space and the distressed antique it is sure to bring form and function into your home. The doors of the cabinets have glass windows and magnetic latches.

          This stand was purchased to accomodate a 50' plasma TV and it does it well. The parts were well packed and made and assembly went well. The only drawback is that the center open section has an opening for wiring for the lower shelf but not the upper shelf. A quick hit with a hole saw solved that problem but it should have already been there from the manufacturer.

          [...] the product assembled fairly well. The magnets on the glass doors and the associated catches on the top piece do not have predrilled holes, so lining those up was a bit of a challenge. Also, the decorative piece at the bottom did not assemble correctly. I was anticipating putting components inside the doors, but those areas are not large enough and I had to use the center section where the drawer normally goes. The holes in the backing do not go all the way down to the drawer area so I had to poke an additional hole for wiring there.All of this makes it sound like I am dissatified with the product. That would not be true. I am satisfied and would purchase a product manufactured by Southern Enterprises again. But, I would probably look for a similar product from another manufacturer before I purchased.

              Bought this item after look at a lot of TV stands. Got it for 2 reasons.

              First was appearance and that part is fine. Nice looking and easy to assemble.

              BIG problem was #2-Dimensions. Item is advertised as being 16" high but it is actually over 23". I think they have their dimensions transposed. I have notified them of this but it is still wrong on this website. I got a bit lucky as after I took off the legs and decrative front pannel at the bottom, it got the height down to about 20" so it fit by a milimeter or two.
