          For assemble-it-yourself furniture, this filing cabinet is extemely sturdy and attractive. And it's better than pre-assembled furniture because you can order free of charge any parts that either arrived damaged (rare due to great packaging) or that you might accidently damage during assembly. Sauder customer service is extaordinary. If you follow the intsructions carefully you won't have any problems assembling this fine product.

          I purchased two, and I am using them as end tables in the living room, and as additional storage(office supplies, files, folders, etc). I fortunately did not have to put these two pedestals together; but, watching my friend put them together, he did have to use his power screw driver. The first one took him thirty minutes (lots of screws, reading instructions, etc). The second one only took him fifteen minutes. Easy to assemble with the proper tools and skills; but, without...... not so easy to assemble. My friend said it is a quality piece of furniture, durable and should serve me well.

          Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

            First, this item is not easy to assemble if you do not have a power screwdriver. There are numerous screws, and every screw will be used, if you put it together properly. Too, It is not difficult to put together using the instructions, plus, each peice is labored. It took with power driver, thirty-minutes for the first assembly. The second assembly took 15 minutes. My friend is a carpenter by trade, and he said: "Sauder is the best in the field of furniture for quality, durability, and they're just well designed and made to last. Hardly ever will they ship out a peice of furniture with a part missing. You chose well. Stick with Sauder and you won't be disappointed." With that advice my next peices of furniture: TV Storage Stand, and Bookcases will be Sauder.

            Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
