PROS:love chair; smart looking & comfortable
great for watching TV and snoozing
CON: reviews mentioned difficulty installing &
I believed them when I tried to put main body together using their diagram...failed for hrs.
Unlike fetal position in diagram, when I placed chair in an inverted V position everything fell into place and bolts slipped easily into position. Like the Jack Nicholson movie said, "It's Chinatown!"

If this 3rd attempt fails, I'm giving up...anyway, here goes....
I sat in and examined the quality of a comparable item --on
sale -- at a very well known, national department store some 44 roundtrip miles away. There was no immediate availability or local pick-up option. I learned before buying, that a hidden $60 fee (+tax) would be charged for about a 10-day delivery. Then I was told there's a 4-5 week delay because of a "backorder". That's when I cancelled my order and tried on-line buying from Cymax.
I called to confirm, just as in the store item costing about $15 more, that, everywhere the body touched, this Series 819 recliner and ottoman was of real cowhide (not so-called "bonded leather" which is really made of 83% of something else OTHER than leather).
I just got (free, FedEx ground-shipped) delivery seven days after placing my order.
The two things I took a chance on were: 1.) That the materials and workmanship would be comparable to the store item, and they were, and 2.) That the comfort would be every bit as good, and it was even better.
Yes, assembly was required, and I'm a putz, but even I was able to complete the task in about 45 minutes. Here's where I rate the item less than perfect. One screw kept cross threading in the arm assembly, or otherwise would not fully tighten, so I used a cople of washers I had handy and fixed the glitch. Also, I had no prior experience with cotter pins and spent 20 minutes on my back trying to snap them onto two bolts in the back beneath the seat (hint to fellow putzes, snap 'em on the very end, not the shaft, of the bolt). Oh, I suppose if we are perfecting the 819 Series at this price level, why not make it in more than two colors?
I consider these minor inconveniences when there's such good quality for the money. The soft leather's there, the swivel and continuous recline mechanisms both work exactly as advertized, the wood has a very fine satin finish, and my three bulging discs really appreciate the good lumbar support this chair provides.
I took a chance and was rewarded...I'd do it again...definitely...Now, let's see if this contrary PowerPreview will let me past this point.
