The nature of the beast here is that there are only a limited handful amount of companies that make this gel and it certainly isn't cheap. However, I now have a fireplace where no fireplace should or could exist in my apartment. The flames are insanely real looking and crackle and pop and dance up high around. So the price is just one of those things you have to deal with. Try to catch a sale around various holidays [...] and you won't feel so bad. It does last a solid 2 hours and then dies down (like a real fire) in that last 30-45 minutes approaching the 3rd hour. No smell, no mess, no clean up except throw out the tin, so again the cost is what it is.

Not a bad price on this product. I was upset with the way this gel stinks up the house! After awhile I have to blow it out because I start getting nausea. I am going to have to invest in something more expensive and save this gel for a back-up.

I love this product. I live in an apartment and really wanted a fireplace. Thanks to real flame, now I have one. The gel fuel acts just like real fire. It crackles. It's warm. I do 2 cans for some warmth, 3 cans if I'm cold and was it really warm. Either one looks beautiful. I love to watch the fire.
