I bought this to replace my old headboard. I was looking for something tall that had storage since I was also getting a high captain's bed and I have a small bedroom. This fit the style and price point for me. I did receive a broken part but that was easily replaced through the manufacturer. There were a few small places where the finish was rubbed off but I think it will be easy to cover up with a furniture marker. Also, the portion that makes up the back of the headboard is a folded piece of cardboard(?) and when attached showed a small lighter line where the fold is. Again, I think this can be easily fixed with a furniture marker.

This headboard served exactly the purpose we were going for. We knew it wasn't going to be very high quality, so that was no surprise. It's not wood and you get what you pay for, so that was fine. It looks nice and serves as storage in a room where we couldn't fit night stands next to our bed. So, this worked out perfectly for us. I do wish the color was slightly darker. Overall, it suits us fine.

This was purchased for a second bedroom that is used by my husband when he has sinus/snoring problems. He wanted shelves to put a small tv, alarm clock, phone, etc. We loved the design and expresso color and the price was right. The free shipping was a huge factor also. The headboard came fast, all pieces were there and in good shape and it was very easy to put together with two people. The two things we were not terribly happy about were the thin back panel (which you really can't notice once it's put together) and the fact that there is no way to attach a frame to it. We had to drill holes and buy bolts to attach a bed frame. It was fairly easy, though and looks great in the room.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Perfect for the price. Easy to assemble, but definitely didn't take 1 hour. Took more like 2 1/2 hours, but directions were clear. Not a high-end product, but the price is right. We put in the child's room and are happy with our purchase.
