        What's not so great about this item is the backdrop cardboard siding. It was alittle bit too small in the diminsions around the perimeter of the unit.

          This is a great product. Little on the high side as to price. The one design flaw is the fact that there is a edge which causes a recess on both sides of each shelf. This makes it difficult to use the full shelf without having to remove one or two CDs in order to get the end CD. Otherwise it is a great unit.

            [...] When opened, one side piece had a chip broken off, but it was on the hidden side and easily glued back in place. There was a silly frontispiece that, if used, would have rendered the top shelf too small for CD cases. We simply left it off. As is, it is attractive, takes up little space, and holds a large number of CD's. The design is similar to our 3-shelf DVD rack, so the two pieces complement each other.

            Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
