I bought this bed for two reasons: it was affordable, and I don't have enough space in the closet for all of my clothes (nor do I have enough space in the bedroom for a dresser). Naturally a storage bed solves both problems. This one took a long time to put together without any help - don't recommend trying to assemble alone. Bed seems to be sturdy, drawers save a lot of space and the unit looks good in the bedroom. Finish does apear to chip rather easily, so you have to be gentle around it. Also, it seems as this would be an easy bed to move for as large as it is, as disassembly and reassembly of the pieces is manageable.

Reading other consumers reviews is what helped me to make my decision to buy this bed. The product description is very accurate. You get exactly what you pay for. It's not a high end solid wood bed but it is very nice looking and does meet all of my needs for a price I could afford!As for the constuction, my husband is a carpenter so I had no worries. The two of us built it in about 3 hours. We reinforced each drawer with carpenter glue as we assembled it. Everything went together according to the direction. The bed itself is very sturdy and the drawers glide easily in and out. One thing we knew we were going to do before it even arrived was the addition of a solid sheet of plywood over the slats that hold the mattress. With this additional support our mattress (no boxspring) is very solid and both of us are sleeping better than we have in years. If you plan on having nightstands next to the bed be aware that you will not have easy access to the two drawers by the headboard. Again, I knew this prior to buying the bed, so had planned for using them for long term storage stuff.Overall I am completely satisfied with our purchase and would recomend this bed to anyone who has realistic expectations of it.
