Very heavy. It has a very fragile finish. Basically it is painted pressed wood. The assembly took an hour and the instructions are not terribly clear. The design is great, however, and if you don't mind conspicuous dings that may appear (or you can cover them up) and you are using in a dark area, it won't bother you much. There is a cardboard backing you are supposed to nail to the back, but you can leave it off and that makes accessing components quite easy. So wiring is easy.

Almost didn't buy it because of other reviews, but it's exactly what we hoped for and more. The black is deep and sharp. The design is very nice and rich looking. Very classy look! We love it. Not as hard to put together as some of the previous reviews. Take your time to follow the directions and you'll be fine. Took approx. 1/2 hour, with 2 people. Would recommend to everyone!! Don't hesitate like we did.

There are a lot of pieces, but I was surprised how fast it went together. Some clever fasteners are used. The holes lined up perfectly. Drawings could be clearer. Not super high quality if you look closely and worry about such things, but for the price, it looks pretty high end and it does the job. The materials are painted pressed wood, but it looks nicer than that.
