    I bought this headboard for my 3 year old son. I thought the bookcase cut outs were great for his bed time stories, clock and video games.

    The headboard is sturdier than I expected. It is still particle board and isn't "real" wood but it is nice.

    I wanted something from pottery barn but most of their stuff was girlie. In addition, the nicer headboards I saw at other stores made my son's room look too 'adult' and not toddler or little kid room.

    The only complaint is that headboard isn't very sturdy to bolt onto a bed frame. It isn't bad but just saying that is the only flimsy part of the design.

    I just pushed the headboard against the ball and put the bed against the headboard and it is great.

    After I bought this head board I bought another similiar one for my daughter's room!

    It was an intensive project to assemble this piece of furniture but not impossible by any means. I loved the idea of having storage space to take advantage of every inch of my small Brooklyn apartment, so it was unfortunate when I realized that almost of a foot of wasted space would be eaten up by a hollow space in the back of the bookshelf headboard. It probably wouldn't have been a big deal if I didn't have a door that would be disabled if my bed jutted out another foot. Instead, I turned the headrest around and performed a bit of a hack so that the bed could fit under the shelf of the bookshelf. It means I lose several inches of the bed under the bookshelf, but I'm pretty short. I can also slide the bed out away from the headrest if a taller person is using the bed - they just won't have access to the door. It's not a perfect solution but it seems to be working under the tight space conditions.

        This Headboard is nice, but sadly does not cradle the bed frame properly, so one side of the bed fits inside the frame of the headboard but the other peeks out.

            It was an intensive project to assemble this piece of furniture but not impossible by any means.             Purchased this to go with the 12 drawer platform bed. Headboard assembly took some time to complete, and if you don't read carefully is easy to assemble incorrectly. After assembling, couldn't see a way to attach to the bed, so it is propped up by the bed in the room. Weird. As it is laminate, we will have to see if it holds up to the teen using it!
