    I weigh 280 lbs, and this chair holds my weight so far. When I got it, the finish wasn't dry and I thought it was shellacked. The company had sent it from nearby and apparently had just completed making it. I think the finish is matte polyurethane. It's good, whatever it is.

    I'd like to buy another one if it comes in bigger format, but this one is seems solid after two weeks.

      The chair is nice. Assemble is a little tricky, just do not tighten all the screws until all are in place. Watch out the casters are not read stronger, they crack easily.
