This is a great chair but it took me a couple weeks to realize it.
I've been used to cheap office chairs with cushioned seats.
The kind you would get at your local big box office store. Those chairs always fail after a couple months so I figured I'd switch to a higher quality chair. I've heard mesh chairs hold up better over time and offer more support to your body. A colleague recommended this Office Star chair so I decided to take the plunge.
The first thing I notice was the quality of materials. The frame is completely solid steel. Unlike the mostly plastic chairs I've had previously this thing looks like it is built to last.
The second thing I noticed while using it was that it was very uncomfortable. For about two weeks. If you've never used a mesh seat chair before be prepared for an adjustment period. The mesh feels quite a bit harder then the typical cushion seat. The back of my upper thighs were really sore for about 1.5-2 weeks. So sore that I considered sending the chair back. I decided to try it a little longer though and I'm glad I did. I don't know if my body got used to the seat or the mesh loosened up a bit but now it is very comfortable to sit in. It is still more firm then a cushioned seat but in a good way. Anyway, don't be too quick to judge it. Try it out until at least near the end of your return period. Somewhere around two weeks it'll feel nice. All that said, if you are already used to a firm mesh seat then you probably won't have any problems.
The only thing this chair is lacking that I wish it had are fully adjustable arms. These go up and down but they don't swivel or go forward and back. Also, a seat that could tilt independent of the back would be a great addition. However, I knew this chair didn't have those features when I bought it so I can't ding them for it.
All-in-all a nice chair, just give it time to break it in first.

Office Star SPACE 32 Series Black Leather Managers Chair w/ 2-Way Adjustable Headrest

So I searched the net for a "good" chair as everyone is talking about lumbar support and ergonomics. So I fell into the does th
is really make a difference shopping for a new chair. the cheapo $100-$200 dollar chairs looked ok ,but it was always this nagging why is one chair $649 and another $200. They "look" the same on the screen ,but that's just it. you can't sit on your screen :( and the ones in most office supply stores seem to be trying to fit a certain price point :( So that leaves you with, do you spend $649 and up to $1200 or more on a chair? Well... I took a gamble on this chair and well it was a good gamble. the "leather" feels like leather. When you sit down the chair "hugs" you and feels sold like it will be that way in a year. The chair feels sturdy. It has all the buzz words of ergo, lumbar and tilt and adjustments. So unless I missed something about the more expensive chairs this chair does the jobs of those at half the cost. Maybe I can choke it up to your paying for the name with the others? I have had the chair 1 week and so far its a good buy.
