Stork Craft Carrara 4-in-1 Fixed Side Convertible Crib in White
- Shopper in
We received this StorkCraft Carrara crib much faster than expected - which I loved. I really wanted the StorkCraft Venetian - wh
ich is very similar - but it has been out of stock for a long time and wouldn't be available until after my baby was born, so we went with the next closest crib which was the Carrara. I loved straight edges on the top and curves on the bottom of both of these since most other cribs have the sleigh bed look on top and this was different.
The shipping box had a few punctures in it, so I took pictures of the box before opening the crib just in case there was damage. To my surprise, it came packed wonderfully, very compact, and with no damage. It was left on my doorstep, and my husband definitely had to lift it in (this pregnant girl didn't want to strain herself!). There were a few small imperfections on the back rail of the crib. One almost looked like a knick in the wood that hadn't been smoothed out before painted over, however it faced the back of the wall once put together and wasn't even noticeable. Overall, the pieces looked very nice, so I wouldn't knock down the rating because of the price.
The crib was very easy to put together. It took me and and my husband about 2 hours or so to complete - but it probably would have taken less if we hadn't put a couple pieces on wrong at the base. The instructions were great...just user errors!
All in all, I think the crib is beautiful and will work well. We haven't used yet since baby hasn't arrived, but everyone who has seen it has commented on how beautiful it is and how they wanted one that looked like this. The price we got for it was amazing, so I can't really complain even about the smallest things (even though I don't love the big silver screws that show in the front). With 3 height settings, this crib is definitely a steal. I spent a few months comparing cribs, and others that are similar have reviews of scratching too easily. Let's hope that's not the case with this one, but based on assembly, I don't think we'll have those major problems.

Da Vinci Rivington 4-in-1 Convertible Crib in Cherry
- Shopper in
As stated by other reviewers the directions could be a little easier. However, after a few attempts we had it put together in a
bout 1.5 hours. Its not so much that the instructions are bad as much as that the pieces aren't labeled. End product is a solid and sturdy crib. We dislike that the screw holes for the bed rails are four, highly visible, unfinished holes on the front face of the crib legs. These holes are not visible on the example pictures but they are prominent in real life. The holes are where you would secure the bed rails when you use the crib header and footer for a full sized bed. We attempted to stain them similar to the crib but with no luck. Typical plastic cover pieces are a bad idea due to choking hazard. This is simply a minor blemish of craftsmanship on an otherwise exceptional crib.
