Mahogany, the beautiful dark hardwood, is a native plant to Central and South America, however it is now a protected species, any mahogany that is bought and sold in the United States has been grown abroad on a tree farm or plantation, usually in Indonesia or the Philippines. It is an incredibly hard and durable wood; it resists rot, and has a beautiful and rich finish. Likewise it makes a durable, beautiful headboard that is sure to last generations.
