We were looking for a writing desk to go into a small rental unit. Overall the desk and chair look good, especially for the price, but be aware that there are red hightlight marks on the desk and chair which we did not care for.
The chair went together well but the desk was another matter. The instructions are very difficult to follow and the hardware that came with it was of substandard quality (the cams that hold the desk together are so flimsy that when you tighten them they disintegrate. I had to reengineer that totally to make it work.

If you like the way it looks in the picture, you'll like the way it looks in your house. It does take some time to put together. The chair defintely seems more sturdy than the desk, but the desk isn't bad either.

I spend quite a bit of time writing and this set was exactly what I needed. The desk has a lot of open space for working and setting out supplies, as well as a large drawer that's great for storage. The chair is really comfortable and sturdy.

I chose this desk to use with my laptop computer so was a little disappointed to find that the height is 31 inches instead of the 26 noted in the description. Also, there is one long drawer instead of three, which is not a concern but is misleading. Overall, it is very attractive, and I like the desk and chair.
