Very nice look in the master bedroom of my farmhouse-style home. I bought a king and the scale is "grand" as described. Thought the espresso color would appear almost-black as in the photos, but in person it's definitely brown with a slight reddish hue, like a very dark cherry or mahoghany, NOT near-black. Didn't bother me enough to send it back, it's a nice color. Materials are mid-quality but construction is very well-engineered and solid. It was a humdinger to put it together, came all in many pieces, not like a standard bed where you just slide the siderails into the headboard/footboard--but I didn't have to do it myself. It took the two delivery men about an hour to assemble it. I really like the platform-bed mattress height, it's not easy to find a four-poster platform bed. The mattress support system is very solid and sturdy, many slats with legs down the middle. The canopy bars aren't bolted down, they just lie loose across the posters which have pins that fit thru holes in the ends of the canopy bars. Not a problem for me but it could be a safety issue with rowdy children. The matching nightstands are also solid quality.

This bed is beautiful. Quality wood, great finish and easy to put together (took about 2 hours with power drill). Once assembled it is very solid. We put a select comfort matress and the whole thing together looks great and is extremely comfortable! Highly recommend this frame and it was a great value.
