Comments about Lea Deer Run Bunk Bed Full Extension in Distressed Cherry Finish:

I've added this product to the Deer Run Bunk Bed for my son and daughter because we all like to snuggle in one bed during story time. The addition looks GREAT! I just don't understand why this extension did not come with a full size slat pack like the other Lea extensions do. I am disappointed. Now I either have to purchase a full size slat pack (after already paying for the twin size one) or buy a bunkie board unless I convince my husband to make something to add support for the mattress. The 3 slats it comes with don't do much and will probably ruin the mattress if I don't figure out something soon. For the money, it should be more supportive. Also, the bunk bed itself is adjustable, but with the extension, it has to be on the highest setting. Not the worst thing, but we have the underbed storage drawer and now there is a gap since we had to raise the bed up to the highest setting. (The drawer used to fit perfectly with the bed set on the second bolt down.) I would have appreciated the extension coming with additional support more than anything though-- I can live with the gap between the bed and the drawer, but I can't live without the additional support. I cannot recommend it at this price when the other styles are only $10 more and come with the support system it needs.
