I use this in my kitchen for extra storage and workspace. It's not exactly top of the line wood furniture but it's not that junk you get at [...] either. The unit itself is mostly MDF but the drawer and drawer fronts are wood. Top is very nice and went together quite easily. I think it took longer to unpack than put together.As for the reviewer that complained it was particle board (MDF) yes, that it it, but what were you expecting for the price [...]. If you want real wood furniture go to a [...] showroom, otherwise, this works just fine.

Product design was such that pieces did not fit together without irreparably scratching themselves. Very flimsy design, having been constructed from many tiny pieces, including those structures meant to provide stability. Even when fully constructed, gently rocking causes the device to easily shimmy and creak.

Made of MDF, not wood, thus was difficult to clean, could not use wood cleaning products life Pledge without smudging. I fear that if exposed to water, it will cause the MDF (which is really super compressed cardboard) to deform or have irreparable defects in its surface.

I use the Buffet Isalnd in my dining room to hold all my wine and martini glasses. I like the look and style, it looks expensive especially because of the stainless steel top. The only complaint I have is that it took forever to put together the product. But, when it was finished it looks really nice.
