Wow! We recently removed a 7 foot island from our kitchen that was placed near a wall and I wanted something more traditional, that goes in the center of kitchen. We had contemplated building our own from cabinets/material from[@], but didn't want to spend over $1000 so we thought we'd give this one a try. We placed our order on 2/19 using the free standard shipping and delivery was this morning on 2/23 - that was super fast. It's not large enough to fill with pots, but maybe a few sauce pans and other smaller items, like plates, glasses, wine glasses, tupperware. Very sturdy once together; in my opinion the top is just a bit darker than the picture which I was really pleased with. If you're on a budget and need extra space I highly recommend this.

Product is first rate in every respect except for bracing under fold away lip/top section where one would sit to eat. Most people place their elbows on the surface upon which they are eating and even the slightest pressure caused the little #6 screws to pull out of the main structure allowing the lip to become spongy and have an obvious angle to it from the main counter top. I went to the hardware store and purchased a couple of steel angle brackets and thru bolted them to the main structure which solved the problem nicely. Every purchaser is not up to what I did so it is an obvious design flaw......either take the fold down lip off, make it permanently attached to the main top, or fix it so that it can be used for eating, which is what it is made for with matching chairs available and all.

[...]. IT WAS MISSING ONE SCREW OFF OF A KNOB. HARDWARE STORE HAD A REPLACEMENT. SHELF BRACKETS COULD BE IMPROVED, PIN TYPE IS NOT AS GOOD AS BRACKET TYPE. I WILL CHANGE THEM OUT LATER...NO PROBLEMS OR ISSUES, CERTAINLY NOT CHEAP, BUT PRICE WAS SO SO, [...]...ALL WOOD NO WAFER BOARD....

This island was easier to put together than ONE of the six chairs we got with our table/chair set bought from a furniture store. The quality was very surprising. It's heavy (won't move when you don't want it to) but with furniture sliders, easy to push wherever we need it when we have company. We have gotten so many compliments on it.

The price was great. You get so much quality for so little cost. It was easy to put together and is very, very sturdy. We put those 'furniture sliders' on the bottom and it makes it movable without ugly wheels. You could buy a kitchen island at a discount store for a little less, but it will NOT be this sturdy, pretty, classy. We have gotten so many compliments on this island. [...] saved us over $100.

I love it! What a great addition to my kitchen without looking tacky! The bar looks like it was built with the kitchen! I have received so many compliments about the breakfast bar, some friends even thought I had someone come in and build it professionally!

It took me months to find the perfect piece for my kitchen and it was worth the wait. This black kitchen island is a very attractive piece of furniture. There is so much storage in the deep cabinets and drawers. The shelves on the sides are nice for displaying items I did not have room to put out before. The top is a nice size and when I want a buffet, I simply put up the extended top.
