I didn't expect, for such a reasonable price, to get such excellent quality. You provided the only tool required for assembly and your instructions were excellent even for this novice. The chair is attractive, quite comfortable and even has a plastic tip to protect my hardwood floors.

We chose these for the island in our new kitchen which has light-stained maple cabinets and dark green granite tops. The oak seats are a bit darker than the cabinets, but the mix of wood tones is not offensive. The black base works well, color-wise. Our island only has 9" overhang, and we needed stools that did not jut out too much. These are about as compact as they come. They seem to be a standard height for a 41" counter. Comfort is fine, especially since no-one sits at a kitchen island for hours.

We considered an alternative product that looked pretty similar, but was made in the US. However, some reviews were quite negative about that product's finish, and it cost nearly twice as much. These stools are made in Malaysia, I think, and the fit and finish is quite good. They all seem to be quite square and don't wobble.

Assembly was relatively easy using only the supplied allen wrench and a rubber mallet to tap in in the grommets that cover the screws. Working carefully, it probably takes 30 mins per stool. I used a screwdriver to pry off the 1/2 dia nylon nubs (nailed on) and put on felt circles instead to protect the finish on our oak floors.

A seat cushion would add to the comfort. Otherwise great bar stools fit comfortably under bar counter and easy to store and access when needed.
