We purchased 3 chairs for use at kitchen counter and generally are very happy. [...] They are reasonably attractive, especially for the price, but buyers should be aware that the chairs are primarily steel, with only a part of the backrest made of wood. This means the lower sections have sort of a lawn-chair construction, but the black finish provides sufficient appearance of quality. While they are not uncomfortable, I would not feature these as particularly comfortable. The swivel is stiff, but make break in over time. The seat cushions are showing early signs of softening, and may break down with extended heavy use.

Pros: Looks wonderful at the kitchen counter; great price, sturdy, seats large frame persons
Cons: Very difficult to swivel. Needed to use touch up paint in black flat so that it could look contemporary instead of distressed wood. Had to put black rubber leg stoppers on the metal legs so that it would not mark the black granite floors;

Just got these great stools for the island in our new kitchen. They are heavy but we think they'll last longer. The vinyl cushioned seats are comfortable and easy to clean. We like that they swivel - makes them easier to get in and out of them. I'm looking for matching chairs for the kitchen table and can't see to find them.

These counter stools are very nice and were just as we expected. However, we goofed and ordered the wrong height (we needed bar stools). [...] the price was the best I could find - and I did A LOT of comparing.
