Hillsdale Rockdale Twin over Full Bunk Bed Set in Espresso
- Shopper in
We moved into a small home near the ocean and have need for extra places for guests to sleep. We replaced our son's full size b
ed with this twin over full bunk bed. His bedroom isn't large and this bunk bed look and fits great in his room. I especially love the fact that the ladder does not extend onto the floor but is attached to the bottom base of the bed. The color is espresso and it goes perfectly with the other espresso pieces already in his room. It seems to be sturdy. Good quality and it doesn't take up any more floor space than his full size mattress/headboard he had previously. My only negative is that the instructions are not very detailed and when it says to use piece "a" unfortunately the pieces themselves are not marked which made it tricky to know for sure if I was using the right piece. The instructions say to install the ladder before you install the slats that rest under the mattress. I thought it would be easier to install the ladder last, after I put the full mattress on the bed. Not necessarily true. Although it is easier to get the mattress in without the ladder there, I had to hoist up the mattress on the end where the ladder is, unscrew one of the slats, install the ladder, screw the slat back in. I hope that makes since. Anyway I think that is the only poor design because it is easier to put the full mattress on the bed first before the ladder.

University Loft Graduate Twin Open Loft Bed
- Shopper in
Being a geek, I extensively searched for a quality loft bed, and after meticulous comparisons for safety, wood endurance &qualit
y, this particular model was very impressive in stability, strength, flexible style/good taste for little boy-to-man or little girl-to-lady years;after this investment, our kids go to college later and can take this bed with them, with their office/study still intact underneath for their dorm room or apt. I have 2 of these beds now,for both kids. We are done!buying beds for them. You can decorate this bed with lots of flexibility thru the years,as your child grows. It's a SMART INVESTMENT for LONG TERM USUAGE! BUT make sure you buy the EXTRA LONG TWIN SIZE, so your kid can expand to adult size! Regular Twin Size is too small for later. Daddy and I are tall, especially Dad, so our kids are above avg. in height...they need the Extra Length into young adulthood life. Becuz it saves space, there's more room to enjoy or use for the bedroom. There is ALOT you can do to decorate and create your individual style thru the years with this bed, yet it is very cozy, comfortable, safe! I would also reccomend to buy a quality tempurpedic( or one like it, a knock-off brand that does the same job) mattress with a really good mattress protector. This bed can be sold later, becuz it is a timeless design.....for a child or adult. Even as adult, it is a fun bed to use in a guest room,too....it's practical and keeps you young at heart. My 5.5 yr old daughter has a delightful lavender see-thru fabric curtain that goes all the way around her office area underneath, makes it girly. My 7yr old son, wants a boyish design curtain, too going around it...to mimic a tent environment underneath, to have his own secret or private library/office desk/study. Although I never reccommend any internet connection to their PC or cable TV, those items needs to be placed in a centrally located room in the home, protecting them from trash viewing temptations/pop ups and internet predators. Plus NO CONNECTION in their rooms, means they get their homework done, with better focus, no distrations.
