A full or “Double” bed is 54 inches wide, where a queen size bed is 60 inches wide. This means that if you use a Queen size headboard on a full bed, it will overhang by 3 inches, which in many cases is desirable.

Short on Space? What about a Twin Size Storage Headboard

If you are running short on space, why not consider a twin size headboard. Many people buy full size beds for their kids when they start to outgrow the twin size beds, but most don't even consider the option of an extra long twin mattress. If you are worried about putting a full size mattress in a small bedroom, you might want to think twice, and buy a smaller bookcase headboard instead.
