Bought this to replace my mother's fallen 63 year old bed from her wedding set (the first thing my parents bought after the nuptials). It works beautifully with the other (dark cherry-toned) pieces in the set; the new bronze finish has a VERY subtle "sage green-ish" tone to it, which is actually quite neutral and blends perfectly with both the earth tones in the base decor and the livelier burnt orange and rust accents in the rest of the room. (In fact, I believe it is neutral enough to work with just about any color, except possibly certain brighter blues.) Overall, the color and headboard/footboard design make for a classy, dignified appearance that doesn't look the least bit "institutional".

It has proven to be entirely sturdy and stable on its feet as well, and could not have been easier to assemble -- it took about 15-20 minutes or so to do, with an extra pair of hands to support the headboard and footboard while I worked. (Installing and dressing the box spring and mattress actually took longer!)

Picking a sub-$1,500 replacement for her beloved four-post bed was not an easy job, but she loves it. We couldn't be happier with the purchase and recommend it highly!

This is a great bed for the price but it did not come with assembly instructions which leaves you to pretty much figure it out on your own. If you are not mechanically inclined or have not put many things like this together, beware.
