This futon is SO nice. It is well made, sturdy and looks like it costs a lot more. The mechanism works smoothly and it is easy to operate. It is very comfortable and strong. The only thing I might comment on negatively (and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars) is that the frame was scratched and almost looked used but it's not visible once it's together so it doesn't concern me. I would HIGHLY recommend this beautiful piece of furniture

I have slept on many futons... and usually have to be careful about tipping them. I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy it was. I can even sit in the edge! It's a beautiful color and was easy to put together.

Despite the difficulties I had getting my hands on this futon due to the Manufacturer's back order I am very happy to have it on hand. I received it yesterday and had it assembled single handedly in about 2 hours. And that was taking my time and eating lunch throughout.

The frame comes in 3 boxes, one for the arm rests, one for the back and seat bars, and one for the cross beams. There is instructions for assembly in the boxes for both the arm wrests and the seat/backs. Some hardware for assembly comes in the arm wrest box and is needed for later steps(seat/backs) so it can be confusing, but the general process of slapping this together is pretty simple. They give you the allen wrench and a small simple wrench to tighten everything. The only headache is putting the "folding mechanism" hardware onto the wooden frame due to the fact some nuts are behind the springs and hard to get to, but not impossible.

The wood is a really great dark stained smooth finish and it's a SOLID hefty piece of wood. It's far superior quality then anything I've gotten at the big W and on par or better then a lot of what I've assembled from the big T as well.

And I can sheepishly say Myself and many of the folk that will be sitting on this are not lightweights, and so far it's taken us sitting and laying on it without any groans, grunts, cracking noises, or sounds of physical distress. :) A BIG plus.

This item was just as described. It looks very nice and appears to be a good product for the price. The only downside that I found was the assembly process: the instructions that were included were missing a page and it came with a lot more screws and bolts than what was needed, making it difficult to figure out what went where. Other than that I really like the finished product and it is a welcome addition to our family room.
