      We purchased this product to replace another futon that had been repaired one too many times. We had a very good mattress and needed only the frame. This product was a good match for the rest of the furniture, was reasonably priced and had the brackets that prevent the mattress from sliding off the frame. The final selling point was the additional storage at each end with flip up arm rests to house drinks, remotes, etc. We were pleasantly surprised by the sturdy construction, heavy duty springs, and ease of folding up and down. Though it took two of us to assemble, it was fairly simple for my daughter and I. We're so pleased, we're seriously considering an additional purchase of the same for an early retirement of another futon.

      Bought for 15 yr old for "her space" so she had seating space for friends, place for kids to sleep over and her when she studies downstairs late... it all depends on the mattress you buy... we bought mid low range not great but not cheapest... heavy sturdy mattress only time will tell... Frame is VERY GOOD... heard metal holds up better than wood but not as attractive as wood... very easy and fast to assemble if you can use simple wrnch and allen wrench... it really needs two people to do quickyly and safely though... wood peices are HEAVY and strudy. for the price CANNOT BEAT IT... we almost bought this futon locally for 700 with similar mattress... free shipping 50% the cost its a NO BRAINER... shipping was lightening fast, well packed... more than enough hardware. don't worry this was a great purchase.

        I have 2 of these oak futon frames. One is in the bedroom as the full time bed and part time couch. The other is in the living room as the full time couch and occasional bed. The sides come completely assembled, The only assembly required is to add on the bed/couch frame. My Wife and I started out with just 1 for the bedroom and liked it so much we ordered a second. There are also more mattresses available via [...] if you would like a spring futon mattress but it should be noted the spring mattresses are very difficult to fold.

            The product looks nice and is comfortable. It was easy to put together, except that the hardware included and the minimalist instructions did not line up. We had to purchase lock washers and wingnuts because they were not provided, even though they were called for in the instructions.
