        It is attractive,but the color is deceiving.The product looks gray in the picture,but it is not that color. Everything else is great.It really heats the room.I wasn't sure about the flames,but even that looks real.I am very happy with the it.

          We are using this fireplace to add warmth and ambience to an office/sitting room. We prefer zoned heating that will not dry out the air, and our forced air central heating is not a heat we prefer. Everyone who has seen this fireplace is "blown away" by it. The flame comes out of 3 layers of "sand". One can use the fireplace with or without the heat feature, and the remote control makes it very easy to use. The design of the fireplace is such that it looks as though it were part of the room's construction when, in actual fact, it just is mounted on the wall.
          It is a stunning and utilitarian piece and adds real pizazz to our room!

          Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

            [...] It would be easy to hang for anyone used to doing a fair amount of household projects. Because we needed an extra outlet, our electrician installed the fireplace also, but we could have done it ourselves. The flames are realistic and the unit is classically simple in appearance. We did not purchase it as a heat source so haven't really used the heat other than to test it and it gives off enough extra heat to warm a mid-sized dining room.
