    My intended use for this fireplace was the heating element, I live at the beach and it gets chilly in the evening. The space heater is not very effective except for the two feet in front of it. The mantle is, however, beautiful, and looks like an expensive, real fireplace. I love the style it brings to the room. It's a gorgeous Cherry color. The firebox is a bit small, and would look WAY better if it were bigger. The logs are arranged nicely and the flame is realistic. The remote control is somewhat worthless[...] It basically only has an off and off switch also. Overall, a lovely piece of furniture to look at, but heater is limited.

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
