After assembly I noticed a very pronounced "half moon" shaped gray dome in the firebox that detracted from the realism of the flames. This "half moon" is pronounced whether the flame is on or not. I wondered if I had received a defective unit so I called Dimplex. (Be prepared for a hold time of about 90 minutes for support.) I was told that other customers had called and complained about this but was told "unfortunately this is the way the unit was designed and there's nothing that can be done about it". There is no other firebox that can be substituted for this one that does not have this gray "half moon" effect. I asked if her use of the term "unfortunate" indicated that there might be a design flaw to which she responded (after some hesitation) "no". If it were not for this "half moon", I would have given the unit five stars.

This fireplace was discounted, so we jumped at the opportunity, and we are so happy we did!!!!! the flames look so real and the elegant finish add a lot of character to our house. Don´t hesitate, just get it, you won´t regret it!

Very pleased with the Dimplex Fireplace. Easy to assemble. Looks great in our living room with our Flat Screen TV on the wall above it.

This is the second Dimplex we've purchased. The first is working well after five years. This Dimplex is going into a new community room in our retirement village. The set-up was remarkably easy: just six wing nuts, and voila! there it was.

The fireplace is beautiful. The warning label on the metal screen is unattractive and its not removable. I think that is the only thing negative i can find.

We love the fireplace. It looks beautiful and adds warmth to our family room. It was better than ripping into the wall and putting in a real fireplace, chimney, etc. No wood to buy or cinders to clean up. Plus you can move it to another wall or another room when you want to change your room layout/decor. It was [...]easy to set up.

We used this fireplace in our living room, which is 12' x 18'; It heats up the entire room very nicely and maintains the room at a comfortable heat. Assembly was easy and care of the fireplace is easy.
