I thought I was just getting the insert for the ambience of a fireplace and had no intention of using the heater. BUT, since I only run my central heat to get the chill out of the room for my birds, I thought I would turn it on low and see how it did. It was great..It took the chill right out of my fairly large living room without making it stuffy or too hot.

I am glad to have found this realistic insert. Because of children and pets, we were afraid to light our fireplace. This lets us enjoy the fireplace again without the worry. It's clean and so easy to "light".

I have placed the insert inside my fireplace behind a glass screen I already have. The fire looks incredibly real. In my estimation the flames look better than some gas logs I have seen. I live in a condo and this is a great way to utilize the fireplace without the musty odor I was experiencing with a wood fire. I hope my neighbors will do the same!

BUDGET FRIENDLY AS WE HAVE JUST RETIRED. NO LONGER HAVE TO CLEAN OUR FIREPLACE BOX. WE CLEANED IT ONE LAST TIME AND PAINTED IT WITH BLACK HEAT PAINT BEFORE INSERTING THIS PRODUCT. GREAT AMBIANCE ADDED TO OUR FAMILY ROOM FOR ALL SEASONS. LOVE THE REMOTE CONTROL. ONLY CON IS THE MIRROR BEHIND THE LOGS IS NOTICEABLE. OUR DECORATIVE FIREPLACE SCREEN HELPS TO DISGUISE THE MIRROR.

Purchaced this product as a christmas present and it worked perfect for my application into an old unused wood burning fireplace.It was the most realistic electric fireplace i could find on the market,looked great when complete.
No, its not a real flame for all you hard core wood burning fireplace people but it is realistic enough to lock you into that blank stare as a fire does :)

Ordered this fireplace insert to replace the existing dirty real fire. Wanted to get this one because of the simulated fire and the idea of a fan to blow the heat into the living room. The picture (at least what I could see) showed, what I thought, to have the heat blower on the bottom of the unit. This is where I wanted it!. However, when I received it the blower was on the top. This vetoed the installation since the blower was going to be blocked by the top of the existing fireplace. I had to return it. I also realized that I mismeasured the height which created a different problem for me.

I bought the fireplace inset as a Christmas gift for my family. They are thrilled with it. The flames are realistic looking and it does provide heat. I read reviews before buying and decided to get the inset with the led lights and I'm glad I did. It definitely makes it more real in appearance. After seeing the fireplace insert in use I know other people loved it and went and purchased their own. I would definitely recommend this and buy this again.

It is used in an existing fireplace and works fantastic to provide both heat and a serene asthetic beautiful looking fire.

Would not change it unless it offered real fire sounds like popping etc.
