Counter Stools

Many of our customers come to us looking for a bar stool for their home, and haven't yet realized that bar stools come in a range of semi-standardized sizes. Stools are measured by their seat height, but how do you know what seat height you need?

The Easiest method of finding the correct chair or stool height is very easy. You are going to need a Tape Measure, an existing counter top or eating surface and maybe a pencil and paper to take some notes.

How to Choose Stool Size:

• Step 1: Use the tape measure to find the height of the counter surface, measured from the floor. Write the height down.
  
• Step 2: Subtract 10-12 inches for your seat height. (Consider that you need room for your lap to fit between the overhanging counter and your seat. For a really thick counter may require a lower seat height).

Usually Counter Tops are 36 inches tall (Counter Height) or 42 inches tall (Bar Height).

Counter Height Chairs range from 24-27 inches, and bar height chairs range from 28-32 inches. In most cases stool heights are even, so the vast majority of Counter height Stools are either 24" Counter Stools or 26" Counter Stools. On the other hand, bar stools are usually 30" bar stools or 32" bar stools.

Counter Stool Styles
