    This bed works with my 8' high ceiling, and should last for my 10 year old until he leaves for college. (I don't expect that he'll be over 5'10" tall). The desk space is not deep, but it is wide. Shelves in back are optional but add lots of storage space. The bed is very nice looking. The finish quality is good enough. [...] We're happy with this bed/desk system!
