I like the desk and for the price of all three parts, (Hutch, Desk, File Cabinet) its not a bad deal. The desk has an attractive design. Some things to consider:
1. The wood is sensitive. When using the wood studs to connect the walls/sides of the desk use a rubber hammer and strike lightly. Don't hit too hard b/c you may damage the desk in the process. This is very important when constructing the Hutch.
2. To secure the hutch to the desk you will have to drill your own holes in the desk and the hutch. The company didn't do this for you so be prepared with some drill bits to secure the hutch to the desk. You will need to drill about 8 holes, 4 on each side, to secure the hutch.
3. It is important to secure the hutch. The hutch is heavy it if it fell on somebody it could cause some serious damage to somebody or the floor.
4. Moving the desk is a little difficult. I recommend using furniture pads. I put one on each corner where the PC would be, one in the corner and four more on the other side of the desk where the drawers are. Using these I can move the desk no problem. You can buy these at any hardware/home and garden store.
5. You will need help moving the hutch on top of the desk. Even if you are strong enough to move it yourself the wood may not be. Again the wood doesn't hold well under presser. Have somebody hold one side while you hold the other and lift together to put the hutch on the desk.
6. If you use the wood glue don't use too much. They give you the exact amount you need. After a while you will see that there are some areas that may not need glue if you decide to tear the desk down and move it to another location.
7. Don't lose any screws! They also give you the exact amount you need. You lose it and you will need to go to a hardware store to fine one to fit the one you lost.
8. Construction can take awhile. It is a large desk and you are constructing 3 parts. If you do not want to do it all in one day I recommend doing a piece at a time. Do the desk one day, file the next and hutch last for example.
9. Common sense here, construct the desk in the room you plan on using it in. Make sure that is the room you want the desk to be in. Again the wood is soft and screwing and unscrewing the desk can cause the wood parts to be useless.

Hope this information is helpful. It is a good desk for the price. I wish it was a little deeper with more desk space but for now it will do.

An Expert Is Required

This is a beautiful ensemble on paper. After reading several comments about its style and easy assembly, I decided to purchase this item. The price was reasonable, however, delivery was delayed due to an excessive amount of orders. It is one of their most popular sellers. I quickly learned that I was in trouble because the instructions were very confusing. There were pages and pages of instructions. Therefore, I hired a professional furniture installer. It took him nine hours to assemble the set. You must be very careful removing little stickers that are attached to "every" piece of the furniture. If not, you will remove the coloring. I had to purchase a black marker to cover-up these blotches. The hutch is the most disappointing because the material is very poor quality. I like this desk, but, unfortunately, I don't love it.

We love our new corner desk. We have a fairly small room (10 x 10) and this fits nicely without overpowering the room. Construction was tedious but not difficult. Instructions were clear, items were packed well, and even though we had one piece arrive broken, it was replaced quickcly and easily. Love that they have Saturday hours as well. Only negative is the finish is paper thin. We pulled a label off and peeled off the finish. Fortunately, it was on the side of a drawer and we could do a little touch up.

I would say that this desk is terrific for adults, but not suitable for a young family looking for a work station. Hope this helps.

Love this desk - looks great, lots of places to store things. Only negative is I'll have to be careful not to scratch the top. We had someone put it together (Impact) so the hassle of reading instructions was avoided.

I was a little scared when I first saw all the heavy boxes for this set but when I got to the assembly of it all, it was very easy. I put the entire set together by myself, although some parts are a bit heavy. The instructions are very easy to follow and all of the parts were superbly labeled. It is in our home office and looks just beautiful.
