I am a 62 yr young female & assembled desk, hutch & 2 drawer lateral file cabinet by myself. I did have to have help attaching the hutch to desk but all in all fairly easy to assmble...good directions. I love the look of the pieces & they look very good all together!

I almost spent more on a desk at an office store just because I hate to buy this site unseen. I'm so glad I didn't. This is so much better made. I bought the matching file cabinet, which is huge. The desk is a medium size, but along with the cabinet, I have tons of storage. They look beautiful together. The trim work on it looks so real. I have them in my dining room and they really compliment the new black fridge. Plan on spending several hours assembling this, but it is worth it. I was a little eager at the end and put my hutch on without rececking its position. I am about a 1/4 of inch little more to the right than left, but with the cabinet next to it, you can't tell. Also, leave top 2 nails out of desk backing, and bottom two out of hutch so you can screw the L brackets right into predrilled holes on back. It will really help you connect the two.

Wish it was made a little sturdier instead of having that cardboard piece in the back to stabilize the whole thing...

Def needs more storage, but that would change the overall demensions. I saw something similar @ Raymore for 3x the price but sturdy..

Ordered the desk, hutch and filing cabinet. [...] Never received the filing cabinet. (?)Fairly easy to put together and does look good. When you have to move it, be careful, it is heavy and may come apart where the nails and screws are.

We are using the desk and hutch in our home office to house our pc. It is an absolutely beautiful set, but we assembled it on a tile floor and moved it to a hardwood floor after it was put together. We used low-tack painters tape to keep the doors and drawers shut while we were moving it. Unfortunately when we took the tape off about 5 minutes later, it pulled the black finish off the doors and the wood finish off the desktop. The construction seems to be paper mache or something. Also, the backing is all cardboard. We were expecting something more substantial based on the catalogue photo. But the product is really beautiful and functional [...]Allow about four hours assembly time for both desk and hutch with two people working on it.
