I am using these bookcases to shelve my hardbound books and family photos. Also, on top of the bookcase I am using that space to display porcelain nicknacks. This is truly a very nicely constructed, attractive piece of furniture that looks great against my blue walls. Two cases I bought for the living room, and two more I will buy later for the bedroom, but, hopefully in oak. The bookcases sit solidly without leaning, and it took two to place them. I did not put the bookcases together; however, I observed that it appeared to be uncomplicated, and I timed the `putting together' at one hour for two cases. Also, great width and depth. Lastly, my only negative is the plywood backing has seams that can be seen if you don't fill the cases with books; otherwise, a very nice investment for the money.

I use this bookcase in my home office. I'm a writer, and it allows me to have a lot of reference material easily at hand. It also goes well with the desk and lateral file from the same series. Together, they have made my office look more professional.

I like the deep shelves. My old unit was only about 10 inches deep.
