This is a very sturdy, good looking unit with deep shelves. Shelving unit is quite heavy to handle to unpack but weight should indicate durabililty. Unassembled pieces were well packed and arrived in undamaged condition. My only suggestion is to place some sort of protection between the flat side pieces and the other pieces in the packing container. As carefully as I tried to unpack the pieces, scuffs to the side pieces resulted as the different pieces slid past one another. If a second attempt to unpack were available, I would have either had someone to help with the process or totally cut apart the packing box so as to lift out the pieces rather than slide them out.

I can't really give a review on a product we never received BUT I can give you a review on how unhappy I am that I did not receive something I have paid for and have not been contacted regarding the issue!!! It was on its way and it was supposed to be delivered a few weeks ago, but then it said ship back to sender due to damage. As of now I have not been able to get a hold of anyone. Never got a notice via email or phone for that matter... So now I sit here... With no bookcase that has been paid for! I was forced to give 1 star but I would rather give negative!!!

We needed very specific dimensions for our space and this fit the bill. It is very heavy, but went together easily, is very strong, and most important looks great. The only problem now is my cat loves getting on top of them because they are so tall and knocks everything up there down.

We use our bookshelf to store menus, wrapped silverware and check books at our restaurant. The size was perfect for a spot we have close to one of our registers and the staff needed a storage area.
