    I have this on the front entrance hall next to the front door. It is very attractive and sturdy. Holds all the books I wanted there and still has room for extras. the top is primarily a catch all.
    when family comes home, they lay their stuff on top.
    the only negative is the backing, which is not wood but some kind of composite and not very sturdy.
    It works well for me and was easy to put together with just a couple of tools.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
