This is a nice nook if you have a corner of your home that might be too small for a table with chairs all the way around it. Ho
wever, I assume if you're browsing for nooks, you've already made this realization. The quality matches the price. The unit is solid pine and I felt that assembly is fairly easy compared to some of the things I've bought from places like [...]The pine is a bit thin however and modern pine is very soft because all the strong old pine trees were turned into lumber long, long ago. Neither of these are a huge issue; in fact, my only real complaint with the unit is that the table is somewhat lightweight and seems to scoot across the floor with much less effort that I'd like. It makes it feel a little less sturdy that you'd want. But overall, for the $300 range, this isn't bad at all! Our family of 3 uses it at least twice a day and it has been doing great. The only potential danger is my 2 yr old whacking it accidentally with a toy or something, since it is soft pine. A minor ding here or there just adds character.
