    After buying the matching U-desk from another online supplier, I decided to purchase this matching lateral file. I knew from the desk construction that this would take 2-3 hrs to build, and I was OK with that. The main problem is this cabinet does not easily convert to letter file storage. The bars provided by the mfr allow only about 50% use of each drawer for letter files front to back. I decided to do my own retrofit buying (2) 24" bars for less than $3 and using them along the back of each file. I requested Bestar send me additional plastic drawer covers (which they did) for the sides of each drawer. I then was able to use this cabinet for letter storage going side to side, not front to back.

    One other issue I had was the bottom drawer of this cabinet sits too low when on carpeting. I tried raising the casters , but that put too much stress on them due to the weight of this cabinet. So I moved the bottom wood facing up 1/2 inch for the drawer to not rub on the carpet. That worked, and now after much fussing around, my cabinet is useful.

      It did take some time, but this product actually came with all the parts and easy to follow assembly instructions. Once put together, it is sturdy, nice looking and has the option for both letter and legal sized hanging file folders.
