My 6 year old daughter loves it and that is a good start. The drawers provide good space (drawers are 13x29). The drawers are on metal gluiders, which seem to work well and pull out all the way. The headboard is narrow, but I prefer this so it does not take up a lot of space. The base of the bed provides several wood slats to support a mattress and boxspring. Although, I don't think a boxspring is necessary, or one of those "bunkie" bases might be all that is needed, depending upon the thickness of your mattress. You have 13" to work with before you are at the base of the lower level/first bookshelf on the headboard. Trying to reach that 13" will look nice. However, using all 13" will have the mattress a couple inches HIGHER than the footboard. I'm guessing the picture shows a narrow mattress that is only about 7" in thickness, without a boxspring. I am using a thick pillow-top style mattress that is 11", and will add a bunkie now that I know the space I have to work with. I installed my daughter's bedrails and they fit snugly, which is great. Two mildly cons would be the paint looks thin in places, so I think it will show scratches easily. Also, the wood on the bottom of the drawers is thinner than I'd like it to be. Storage in these drawers should be for light weight items (clothes) only.

I ordered two of these beds for my 10 and 11 year old daughters. The girls and I put both beds together in about 4 hours. They are thrilled with their beds and the extra storage space. I am thrilled with the high quality furniture. I know these beds will last for many, many, years.

I bought this bed for my daughter. She loves the bed.[...]The storage unit was poorly assembled with missing screws on the drawer tracks and you could see where the assembly team messed up and created other holes when attaching the drawer tracks. Also the bed frame was missing some holes for the screws.

This bed was easy to assemble and looks great in my son's room. Since he has a small room, this was the perfect space saving solution for us. He has every nook and cranny filled with toys and clothes. Just what we needed!!
