The DVD case arrived timely and the instructions for installation were precise. I was impressed with the sturdiness of it given some of the prior comments, but it is more than capable of holding my many, many DVDs and more.
It looks great in my family room, holding all my favorite movies. Yay!

This thing is made of the cheapest material. I realize these put-together shelves aren't the highest of quality, but this is ridiculous. It shakes like crazy, even if you put it up against a wall. I feel like I wasted $100+. Do NOT get this.

I was a bit disappointed that the top and bottom are 2 different halves. This makes the unit a little less stable. The shelves fall easily if they don't have anything on them. (I am considering super gluing them). It is ok for the purpose that I got it for, but overall unhappy with the quality. Appreciate having the anchor 'L'. Really keeps the unit stable and won't tip over.

This shelf unit holds a ton of CDs, DVDs, Tapes and other small things. It was a little complicatded to put together but having been an [@] consumer for decades now it wasn't much of a challenge even though there were pages missing from the iconic instructions. I did have to take it apart a couple times to get everything right though. The worst thing was that because of it's size some of the fasteners cracked the little holes in the particle board and left me with a less than totally confident feeling. Fortunately there is sturdy fastening hardware so once connected to the wall, I felt better about everything staying together.

We used this to hold all our DVDs, CDs, video games, and more. It was customizable with the shelf, and it looks great in our living room. However, I will never purchase anything from Cymax ever again. Buyer beware--they are in Canada, and they don't make that clear on their site or when you check out. So if you're in the US, you'll receive a foreign transaction fee on top of your total. We contacted customer service three times about this, forcing us to go back and forth between them and the credit card company. All our interactions with Cymax customer service was the WORST. I'm a pretty patient and reasonable person, but they were extremely rude and unprofessional about the whole situation. We ate cost of the foreign transaction fee, but they never warn you about it. Be aware of them if you ever run into any issues! They are not helpful and could care less about your issues. This is a good product, so if you can find it somewhere else, go there.

I bought two of these to hold my 900+ DVDs. They are well made and have plenty of shelves included. I have only one warning. They are built in two sections. The bottom section is screwed together and is very sturdy. The upper section attaches to the bottom section with the screw/rotating lock system so often found on kit-built furniture. The screws go into plastic inserts which pull out fairly easily if you do not have the case upright when trying to fasten the two together. However having it upright makes it difficult to put the backs on. This is much easier to do if the cabinet is face down on the floor. I used steel "T" brackets to reinforce the joints at the rear of the cabinet and that seemed to fix the problem. Other than that these are excellent and, if you are careful while assembling them you will have no trouble and will have a nice-looking cabinet when you are done.

I now have three of these shelves in my apartment. I bought one many years ago and I was sad to see that they have changed the design slightly when I decided to buy more. The shelves are much thinner than the original design, so they are not as sturdy as the original one I purchased.

That being said, I've decided to re-purpose these shelves to start handling my collection of paperback books. CD/DVD shelves are simply the perfect width for these things and you can fit hundreds of average sized paperbacks on a shelf! Rather than using a typical wide bookshelf to store these types of books, these shelves are perfect for this purpose.

I am even planning on buying a shelf to put hardcover books on, though I am slightly nervous about the shelves holding the weight. I suspect an average sized fiction hardcover should hold up just fine, but these shelves are simply unsuitable for my text books. In that regard I use a typical larger sized bookshelf. A regular fiction hardcover sticks out only a few inches beyond the shelf, but I find the width is still perfect to manage these books as well. We'll see how my future shelf buying goes over the year... I project I need 5 more of these! One will be for my DVD's/Xbox games though.

I needed DVD shelving that held ALOT of DVD's. I have over 1000 DVD's and had trouble finding something that held that many. I was pleased to have found this. If anyone needs something to hold all their DVD's then I suggest buying this product. Each one held 504 DVD's, but you have to remove sleeves on your DVD's if any of them have them to get that true count.
