Metal antique headboards fall are typically made from Iron, or made to look like painted Iron, which is durable, and traditionally made from cast. Iron can be easily welded together, you will normally find antique iron headboards to have intricate curved designs, and also smaller pieces welded together. Wooden antique headboards are styled much differently that their metal counterparts. Wood antique headboards are usually made to go along with an antique theme. The antique cottage theme is a great example of this, where the headboard is designed to look like storm shutters.
